Today, I went to the LAFPP Board to try and save the City tens of millions of dollars & avoid hundreds of layoffs for next fiscal year. Unfortunately, we weren't successful. The City is currently paying more than we need to when it comes to making Police Pension Contributions.

The irony of the City paying more than we need to for Police Pension Contributions is that police civilian employees make up the largest group of proposed layoffs. Of the 1,647 proposed layoffs to balance the City's budget, police civilian employees make up 403 layoffs.

We had a GREAT TIME at CicLAvia CicLAmini in Pico Union! 🚴🥳 1.4 miles of streets closed to cars! Everyone was biking, walking, skating, & more! Gave out mugs & hats for our push-up & tic-tac-toe contests! 💪🏼 Most importantly, we talked about the city's budget & finances! 💰
