You could make an argument about how important grades are to high-schoolers; but in elementary school, does a kid really need to see an A, B, or C on a report card to figure out how they ought to position themselves in relation to others their age? #OntEd matthewrmorris.com/report-cards/n…

Thinking about how my student relationships have changed and blossomed during distance learning this year, and realizing that something pretty cool happened. Latest blog post: heartandart.ca/?p=8944

"Safe" means emotionally as well as physically safe. And so, we have to be very careful that in our zeal to create these sorts of physically #safe environments, we aren't creating emotionally unsafe environments. #SelfReg

Much of the time, the way we describe #behaviour has little to do with the other person. It’s more about how behaviour makes us feel. So when we describe a child’s behaviour as annoying, that is usually more about our experience than the child’s behaviour. #SelfReg #OntEd

Teacher friends - how are you keeping the magic of the last week of school alive for your class over distance learning this week?

Laura Bottrell (@l_bottrell) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Just finished our virtual year end party on MS Teams. Not the last day celebration I had hoped for my class but it was so nice to celebrate with them and honour their perseverance during distance learning. I’ll carry their smiles around with me all day today! Miss ‘em already.

And this teacher is officially on maternity leave! I can’t wait for my new adventure to begin as we welcome our first little one in a few weeks!

As we pass off our students to their new teachers, it’s so important to frame them through an asset based lense. @BehaviorFlip

I pride myself in saying “I don’t know” when kids ask tough questions. I think it models transparency, vulnerability and a thirst for learning. Let’s learn together. #CodeBreaker

“All we do is play in Mr. A’s class.” I heard this COUNTLESS times over the years. Do not underestimate the value of play - at any age. When you imagine a world without rules, boundaries or barriers - you problem solve, try new things and explore. Kids need this.

Question: why is it best practice to put up signs with provocations and invitations? Who is the intended audience. This image is from my kinder idols Opal School Who is the sign for. The child? The educator? Visitors to the room? Why have them? Do I need them for outdoor ed?
