1/ 🚨 We stand in solidarity with Sevan Doraisamy and Azura Nasron from SUARA, who are facing unjust intimidation simply for accompanying families seeking answers about their loved ones detained under SOSMA. This blatant harassment of human rights defenders is unacceptable.

Tech-facilitated gender-based violence is pervasive. Abuse doesn't end when survivors leave their homes, offices, or schools. More needs to be done to ensure we practice cultures of respect, both off- & online. Read more here #SuarakanCeritakan ✊🏼 Women's Aid Organisation (WAO): m.malaysiakini.com/columns/740822

This type of language is harmful to all survivors of gender based violence. The usage of the word "kegigihan" implies that the survivor is to blame and not the perpetrator. We implore the media to use more survivor centric language that places that blame where it belongs.
