The biggest winner in all of this is China. Ishiba had already begun cautiously steering Japan closer to Beijing economically, holding back in hopes of a breakthrough with the U.S. Now that those talks have collapsed, there’s little reason left for Japan to hold back

On a vraiment trop pris l'habitude de se faire violer par des privilégiés sans réagir. Les contrôleurs aériens font grève parce qu'ils refusent de badger. On subit.

Trump’s letter to Japan is pure clown show. Threats, bad grammar, zero diplomacy. He’s wrecking decades of trust over a trade deficit he doesn’t even understand. And for what?

*TRUMP TO IMPOSE 50% TARIFF ON GOODS FROM BRAZIL Why are stock markets at all time highs? Is it just fully priced in that Trump will TACO at the end and none of these headlines mean anything?

WOW. 68% of Mexicans and 59% of Canadians now see the U.S. as their biggest threat. Trump’s legacy: turning trusted allies into hostile neighbors.

Trump says he's imposing a 50% tariff on Brazil because its tariffs and trade barriers are causing "unsustainable Trade Deficits," which he calls "a major threat to our Economy and our National Security!" But the U.S has a trade surplus with Brazil.

You left out the part about how the US actually runs a $7bln trade SURPLUS with Brazil. This move is strictly political and has absolutely nothing to do with trade.

I know everybody will just shrug off the Brazil tariff as "same old Trump," but this tariff, and this letter, show just how bereft of logic or actual legal foundation Trump's tariffs are. We have a trade surplus with Brazil, not a trade deficit. But Trump is literally claiming

Trump also claims that he's imposing the tariffs in part because Brazil has put Bolsonaro on trial - which is not a valid reason to impose tariffs under U.S. law. To call this letter a travesty is an understatement. If you're not disgusted, you're not paying attention.

China is Brazil’s largest trading partner, with bilateral trade reaching $160 billion in 2024. Lula and Xi just signed 30+ agreements for new Chinese investments in Brazil including mining, infrastructure, ports, and the purchase of jets.
