I agree with Markandey Katju who said 90 percent Indians are fools. What he did not say is majority of these are ideologically driven - with blinkers on. So, instead of questioning the government, they question people who talk logic & try to show the correct perspective!

The decision to import almost 300 Mn $ worth of sugar taken in the name of controlling price for common man needs an immediate review. The common man is not the biggest user of sugar. In fact it is the food & beverage industry which is the biggest consumer of sugar. Surprised?

Let me add another dimension also to the sugar saga. If the imports go ahead now as planned, the stocks will arrive around start of November, just in time to crash the procurement prices for the fresh crop. Don’t ask me who benefits again? #Nosugarimportsafterexports
