Personally, I'd like to ask him some questions about exponential growth. We should be in Level 4 for 2 weeks to best contain our situation. We had the advantage of foresight at the expense of several other countries, now being frittered away. #COVID19nz

Plotting NZ cases on log scale by reported date reveals an approx 8 day gap. Doubling time now becoming clear. #COVID19nz #coronavirusnz

This suggests any change in social behaviour will take around 10 days to have an effect. If the current NZ rate of 2 doubling days continues we will have about 1200 cases by 1 Apr. Is it not better to spend those days at Level 4? #coronavirusnz #COVID19nz

Visiting the supermarket every 2 days because you are limited to 2 of each item is not a good plan for the upcoming weeks. As cases move into the thousands each visit adds unacceptable risk. Something has to change as to how we buy food. #CONVID19nz #coronavirusnz @CountdownNZ

Wednesday's increase of 50 to 205 is directly on track with our 2-day doubling time, now the 8th highest country in the world according to ourworldindata.org. Level 4 lockdown starts tonight and not a minute too soon. #COVID19nz #coronavirusnz

Please respect the sacrifice about to be made by the NZ population and consider quarantining ALL arrivals into our country at our expense, not just testing those who appear "symptomatic". New Zealand Labour #COVID19nz #coronavirusnz

Thursday's NZ cases at 283, right on track. Pleading with our government to manage quarantine of all arrivals to NZ, not just test those who are symptomatic. Don't fritter away our quarantine period. #COVID19nz #coronavirusnz

368 cases today in New Zealand, Friday, still zero deaths but one case in ICU (Nelson). Doubling time since 24th March is slightly longer at 2.65 days over yesterday's 2.15. We still have the 7th highest rate worldwide. Unite against COVID-19 #coronavirusnz

Fellow Kiwis: The majority of us have the privilege of being able exercise physical distancing to suppress Covid-19. It’s a simple tool that many people in other countries just can’t use. Let’s use this opportunity wisely. We may only get one crack at it. STAY HOME #COVID19nz

Monday 30th March NZ update. 75 new confirmed and suspected cases totaling 589. I'm adding a new graph which has log scales of new cases by total cases, removing the time factor and accentuating how well we are flattening the "curve". #COVID19nz #coronavirusnz

NZ vs Australia and just NSW just to see how well we are all "flattening the curve". This graph is intended to remove influences of starting time and population so that visually you can compare the effectiveness of mitigation efforts. #COVID19nz #coronavirusnz

Might have gone a pinch deep on John Kerry's chin for this artwork - but there it is - Xie Zhenhua, Kerry, Greta, James Shaw and ScoMo for Simon Wilson 's great read on #COP26 Last Chance Saloon - nzherald.co.nz/nz/climate-cha…
