Rochester Police have confirmed they are investigating a possible person in the Genesee River near Andrews St. Several resources are working on scene from RPD, RFD, NYSP and Irondequoit PD.  RPD says updates will come at a later time. We have crews on scene working to learn more.

News10NBC No updates from RPD as of yet. A helicopter has been circling overhead since I got here, and family that we’ve seen at the scene seem emotional and distraught.

News10NBC UPDATE: RPD confirms that a young boy, about 5-years-old, did fall into the Genesee River from the Andrews St. bridge while on a walk with his mother and younger sibling. As of now, they have not found him.

Hundreds in the community came out this afternoon to the Andrews St bridge btwn State and N. Water St. to show support for the family of Zy’Jae St. Pierre the 5-yr-old who fell in the Genesee river Sunday afternoon.

The memorial for 5-year-old Zy’Jae St. Pierre continues to grow days after he fell into the Genesee River. RPD is calling it a “recovery mission”

Meet David Beck, a businessman turned advocate for learning. He's helped 26 RCSD schools with the "Smile Program", designated to make learning fun in and outside the classroom.

There are calls from the community to rename the bridge where Zy’Jae St. Pierre fell into the Genesee River. Community members are also calling for higher railings.
