I knew Nyta Mann for so many years and every moment in her spiky, sparky, socialist company was a joy. Unbearable to read this superb Nick Cohen column but essential reading on why we must die in peace in our own land theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

Very sad to hear the news of the passing of Nyta Mann Nick Cohen Journalist and friend of Tribune. To good a journalist to have been properly recognised & rewarded; she never suffered fools gladly (least of all editors!) theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

suzanne moore I didn’t know - but I admired her, now more than ever. Nyta and I worked together The New Statesman in the 1990s. She was that rare writer, v political - and v witty. Goodbye Nyta Mann and thank you Nick Cohen

Personally i would rescind myself from any fiction shortlist which also included Gabriel Josipovici: he opened the door for many of us and without his early involvement the @goldsmithsprize would matter far less than it does

PM Johnson defends alcohol-fuelled Downing St leaving parties and his "leadership duty" to attend them. It's a new line -- and new nonsense. I left the BBC after 25 years during lockdown. There was never any question of a leaving party. We all knew it would be against the rules.

Paul Tustain of Bullion Vault was one of the smartest and most likeable start-up clients I worked with in Shoreditch during the noughties as part of Grant Thornton’s Gateway to Investment. Sad news. thetimes.com/article/9fea91…

I have raised 40% of my £25,000 all-or-nothing crowdfunder target but more than 50% of the time available has gone. Please support proper journalism about London: tinyurl.com/yd5luud7 Thanks.

London needs serious, informed reporting. Dave Hill has, over the years, been one of the best. He's trying to crowdsource funds for a new website to cover the capital in depth & detail. Worth supporting, I'd say Crowdfunder UK crowdfunder.co.uk/on-london-co-u… OnLondon

We love this photo of the four foot (!) score of Brian Ferneyhough's 'La Terre est un Homme' from the Edition Peters UK office! What's the most difficult piece of music you've ever had to learn?

We are so excited to be working on Why do you never speak? (12-27 May 2018) and new commissions by Susan Turcot and Harriet Gifford! Our project links to Journeys with 'The Waste Land' Turner Contemporary and addresses the voices & the crises in the poem. Supported by Arts Council England 👏
