70% of UK land is farmed. If we want nature to recover, this is where it happens. Farmers like James Rebanks are already doing it – farming with wildlife, not against it. But without proper funding, we risk losing it all. Rachel Reeves: increase funding, grow our future.

"Shameful" The Inquiry hears from expert virologist Prof. Deenan Pillay that the Government chose to spend billions on private consultants from Deloitte instead of listening to experts. The labs they set up have since been dismantled. 'We've been left with nothing'.

We're on a precipice. He's right. Watch this with yr head and yr heart. Resilience. The work he describes is essential and we need more of it, not less. And we'll go badly backwards without enough public funding to make that public good possible Steve Reed MP Rachel Reeves

Total idiots Every metric shows we are creating problems Damaging our own farming community and then importing more Makes zero sense

Welcome back to Nature or No Nature! Rachel Reeves, your own experts say nature-friendly farming is vital for our food security, wildlife, & climate. Yet we hear you're set to slash the funding it relies on. With the clock ticking, and our future to play for, can you answer:

Ultra-processed food as a % of household purchases (Europe). The UK is the only country on this map to be over 50%. And look at the huge difference between UK and France/Italy/Spain/ Portugal/Greece.

We had lunch today at the Camellia House Wentworth Woodhouse A pleasant space to eat good food served by the friendly staff. The sun blinds & vents open kept it cool too. Nice to finally enjoy the view from inside after the award winning restoration πŸ‘πŸ‘

Belties might just be the most functionally effective breed in Britain This year’s calving: 100% unassisted births 100% live/healthy calves 100% good mothers 0 meds/drugs 0 bought feed 0 housed 0 losses It’s been like this pretty much every year - they are awesome cattle

Two samples from same field - one regen grazed with long swards and long rest periods, the other not Photosynthesis changes soil if you manage to let it The restored soil grows almost twice as big plants (and our before is better than most farmed soils)

British and US politicians being paid by Russia to rip apart their societies should be much bigger news than it is. And penalties MUCH higher.

My colleagues & I have taken a huge gamble to set up THE NERVE. We’re trying to build a new independent publication from the ground up. Social media is our only distribution for now. Sharing this article in your networks would make a huge difference. Thank you! πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™
