I had a student ask to video this morning. I don’t care for video. It wasn’t about me. Sometimes they just want to see us. Having a question answered in an email or message just isn’t enough. Best connection so far. I seriously underestimated the power of just seeing them.

Parent conference participation increased a ton in the virtual space. In some cases, 300%+. Maybe our definition of “parental involvement” should have less to do with assuming parents don’t care and more to do with making engagement more convenient for families. They do care.
