touring is the truth serum of a career. the internet can convince you you’re famous, but a half-empty bar on a saturday night will tell you the truth real quick. it’s the only test that matters.

every “overnight hit” has 10 years of terrible songs behind it. people don’t want to hear that part. they just want the story of success, not the stack of notebooks in your closet. more importantly, you got time.

you’re not blocked. you’re just afraid the song won’t be good enough. but the bad ones are how you get to the good ones.
