I didn’t consider until I entered the field of ecology how much harder it is for Black scientists/birders/hikers/etc. I get stopped frequently in the field by the public asking what I’m doing and they’re usually cordial. This would not be the case if I wasn’t a white woman.

I was just interviewed as an autistic expert for a national organisation developing resources for autistic young people around puberty and sexual education. I’m really loving the shift to co-design projects where autistic people are the authority on issues that effect us 👏👏👏
