Pleased to see my first article in Korean published. It discusses the case of Belarus in the context of ILO’s Commission of Inquiry and its recent decision to invoke Article 33 of the ILO Constitution. Many thanks to Dr June Namgoong for the invitation. kli.re.kr/kli_eng/prdclV…
'Is the European Green Deal really leaving no one behind?' 📑 ETUI policy brief by Mehtap Akgüç and Kalina Arabadjieva 🔗 etui.org/Z7G #EuropeanGreenDeal #JustTransition
Where would you go to discuss decent work with such authoritative figures as Rachel Reeves Alan Bogg Michael Ford Melanie Simms Steve Akehurst Margaret Beels (DLME) Kate Bell Manoj Dias-Abey Kate Shoesmith Gavin Kelly, Sarah O'Connor and workers at the sharp end of insecure work?
This is a very exciting new chapter! We are thrilled and proud to carry on the excellent tradition of the Comparative Labor Law & Policy Journal at Osgoode Hall Law School of York University! Big 🙏 to Yolanda Díaz for hosting the International Labour Congress in Madrid 🇪🇸 The climate & tech transitions are global, so a Global Charter of Labour Rights is what we need to: 🛠️ protect workers across the world 🛠️ forge a new social contract for a fairer future
Join for this fantastic event organised by Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung EU | Global Dialogue and Green European Foundation, where they will present their new report on participation in the #EnergyTransition! I will be speaking about #JustTransition governance ✊🌍
I enjoyed sharing some thoughts on worker status and ZHCs with James Harrison and Keith Ewing while recording this Institute of Employment Rights podcast. The Bill has so much potential, but without a new and broad worker definition it could all be lost open.spotify.com/episode/2T0bfv… youtube.com/watch?v=kYBpNQ…
There's never been a more important moment to talk about employment status, as Nicola Countouris says. And that's exactly what we're doing in the latest episode of the #IERPodcast. Stream the full, indispensible episode with Nicola & Prof Keith Ewing, here: ier.org.uk/the-ier-podcas…
These reforms were long in the making. Their pros and cons were carefully considered by ETUI - European Trade Union Institute in a report published a few years back etui.org/publications/r… They are not anodyne and have important economic but also social implications. theguardian.com/world/2024/dec…
Joined Kay Burley (on her birthday!) to talk about the state of our water, the bills + all the sewage. Couldn’t quite bring myself to say on air that with sewage on Shakespeare beach, the White Cliffs of Dover were becoming the Sh**e Cliffs of Dover… 👇🏽
Join us in Southampton for this great (hybrid) workshop on the Employment Rights Bill convened by Joe Atkinson/Alan Eustace on 29 Jan. I will attempt some comparative reflections on the Bill and recent EU labour laws as 'counter-movements' to authoritarian neo-liberalism.
