I hope that the Senate will also include in the push to confirm the judges at DC Superior Court, which remains understaffed. We need more judges!

Does this mean LL are not matching the market- there are tons of voucher holders who can’t find rentals. Are LL pricing homes too high to take vouchers? Why is there such a mismatch?

New year means *NEW* jobs posted on the Children’s Law Center careers site! Interested in increasing access to justice for DC children and families? We’re #hiring across a variety of departments: ow.ly/PwLo50UH59s

A major move forward in our litigation to make DC provide safe, reliable transportation for disabled students. We are proud to represent parents & The Arc of the United States to try to make sure ALL students can access their education.

So SNAP, TANF, WIC, childcare — all block grants. Infrastructure funding. Opioid funding. Ryan White funding. All those public safety grants they do after school shootings. Yes, impoundment. But the impact we need to talk about what’s impacted while this is litigated.

Making sure people are housed is not extreme. It's common sense, cost-effective, compassionate, and it works. What's really extreme is the President Donald J. Trump / Elon Musk plan to cut housing, make more people homeless, and set up government-run homeless detention camps.

Cuts to SNAP will devastate the children I work with. Hungry kids can’t learn and numbers are only going to increase as the economy is devastated by Republicans. We can and should do better in this country!

Funding ATJ must be a priority to ensure that all DC residents can access not just the legal system, but basic services in DC.

Important story! Tenants are losing water bc landlords don’t pay the bill. LL have 💦 at their houses, but fail to pay the bill at properties they own and have the bill in their name. Imagine this summer w/o water!

Trump announced he is going to "move out" "the homeless" from DC. This will be done by force As a former street outreach worker and homeless advocate in DC, and a national expert on laws that make it a crime to be homeless, I have some thoughts:

This should not happen in the US (or anywhere). People are literally being kidnapped out of lives by people wearing clothes they can order off Amazon who not required to show id (or their faces). If you are at risk in DC, please plan! familiesuniteddcmetro.org

I was speaking to a Latino resident this morning, and they said that people in the community are far less likely now to call DC Police Department if they see a crime or are victims of one. The concern is over MPD's work with ICE, or at least the perception of it.
