🥚7 or maybe 8 terns now on eggs! 7 clearly visible, and we’re 99% certain there’s one just out of shot at the bottom. See the pink circles - what do you think? Love BBC Springwatch but need more seabirds in your life? Stay tuned in to Tern TV here 👇 conservancy.co.uk/about-chichest…

Great news after the impacts of avian flu last year. Habitat creation and restoration work so important in providing resilience for seabird colonies to recover and thrive into the future.

The terns have flown the best and it’s great news on successful fledgling this year, especially after the devastation of avian flu in 2023!

With chicks still being raised, the air at the West Hayling lagoon is busy with Common Terns, both parents & prospective parents (this site has produced fledged birds in Sept before). The Solent Oyster Restoration Project trial oyster cages are a favourite roost for some.

👀LOOK UP - OSPREY!👀 Yes- it's Osprey season here in Chichester Harbour. This juvenile was spotted by our ecologist last week around Thorney Deeps. Osprey's are "passage migrants" - they pass through in late summer/early autumn on their way south for the winter. #osprey
