The Bollin Valley Partnership have been silaging, getting ready for when the conservation grazing Longhorn cattle come into their winter housing. Working alongside contractors, grass is cut, baled & then transported back to the farm for storage until it's needed as winter food.

On #WorldRangerDay we’d like to recognise our fantastic Ranger team for all the work they do protecting the historic park, creating new habitats on the wider estate and making #DunhamMassey accessible for future generations to enjoy. 📸Jan Chlebik & National Trust

Get creative and head to the North Park from 11am–3pm, Mon–Fri this week to make your very own tree art using natural materials. Make sure to Work Together and Follow the Path to see what other active things you can find at Dunham this summer. bit.ly/3iDswFT

Want to find out how the National Trust is using moors north of Manchester to soak up carbon? If so here is an interesting thread about the work my amazing colleagues are undertaking... Enjoy!

Wonderful day NT Lyme with the #GreenRecoveryChallengeFund ranger. A lot of the work is focused on flooding, like this new channel, which is diverting water away from the house and gardens.

This may look like and empty field NT Alderley Edge but in fact it has just been harrowed, seeded and rolled by our partners Cheshire Wildlife Trust. Next year it will be a thriving meadow! I love working on this #GreenRecoveryChallengeFund project and creating important habits for wildlife!

I'm working @QuarryBankNT today and Eddie and I have been admiring the new ponds. These are part of the Defra UK #GreenRecoveryChallengeFund project and are going to be great habitats for insects and wildlife. Excellent work from the ranger team in making this happen!

Last day before the long bank holiday was spent @NTHareHill - looking at the landscape, it's features and what we are doing for nature. Also came across a bit of prehistoric riverbed (so I am expertly informed!) #nature #ClimateCrisis #ClimateAction #projectmanagement

Not a bad venue for a work meeting. Today I was NT Lyme to show colleagues the work we did through the #GreenRecoveryChallengeFund project. And no sunburn!!! 😎

Ponds are amazing freshwater habitats and make environment more resilient to drought/flooding. Many have been lost over time and where conditions are right, we want to restore these historic ponds and put them back into our landscape. See below to help us map these lost features
