🔮We are looking for research and software engineers to join Orb DB, a conscious, AI-driven graph database. It is our most ambitious system yet! International applicants are welcome to apply below. Please share and contact Sonia Horchidan for details! forms.gle/ptgsBsm2X6AgFK…

Very proud of Sonia Horchidan for winning the Best PhD Workshop Paper award at VLDB 2025 🇬🇧 for the ground-breaking work on the ORB DB optimiser. If you are at the conference go ahead and reach her to learn more!

Took >3 years with Marios Fragkoulis, Paris Carbone & Vasia Kalavri to write a survey on the evolution of streaming systems in the last 20 years (VLDB 2025 🇬🇧 J.). Looking for a single point of reference for all things streaming systems research? It’s here: link.springer.com/article/10.100…

Beyond happy to announce that our (Asterios Katsifodimos Rihan Hai, Florena Buse, Kiril Vasilev) paper: "AutoFeat: Transitive Feature Discovery over Join Paths" has been accepted to IEEE ICDE Conference 🥳 In this paper, we propose a novel ranking-based feature discovery method.

Registrations open *this Thursday* for the 🌞 VLDB Summer School 2024 🌞 The call for participation is already out: vldb.org/summerschool/2… We have a great line-up of speakers! For more details, the event's website is listed below: vldb.org/summerschool/2… VLDB Summer School

📢It is my pleasure to announce that on Wednesday at around 15:45 CEST, I will present our approach for automatic feature discovery, called AutoFeat, in the session "Database Technology for AI II" in Theatre 12 IEEE ICDE Conference 🌸Looking forward to seeing you there! 🌸

🎉 I am happy to announce that our demonstration paper, “Human-in-the-Loop Feature Discovery for Tabular Data,” has been accepted at ACM CIKM 2024 🎉 This paper introduces the first user-driven human-in-the-loop feature discovery method called HILAutoFeat.

The main work of my PhD, "Styx: Transactional Stateful Functions on Streaming Dataflows," co-authored by George Christodoulou, George Siachamis , Marios Fragkoulis , and Asterios Katsifodimos , got accepted in ACM SIGMOD/PODS ! 📄 Paper: arxiv.org/abs/2312.06893 📜 Code: github.com/delftdata/styx (1/3)
