As Canada cheers on Israel’s wars, remember that this is what Stephen Harper wrote after Jean ChrΓ©tien refused to join the Iraq war. As usual, Conservatives were on the wrong side of history, and unfortunately Mark Carney seems to be taking more notes from Harper than ChrΓ©tien.

Some say that the left needs to β€œstop talking about social issues.” I disagree. We’ve seen from the success of Zohran & even red-state dems like Andy Beshear that as long as your economic message is strong, people will vote for you. None of us are free unless all of us are free

The claim that Zohran’s rise was fueled by rich champagne socialists is extremely misleading. Zohran performed well with the upper-middle class, but did poorly with the wealthy. Zohran’s support peaks for those who make around $80K, and then gradually declines with more wealth.

The Congolese child slave mining cobalt for your EV is not working hard β€œfor the profit motive.” It’s only easy to defend capitalism when you live in the imperial core, at end of the supply chain. You enjoy the fruits of others labour. This is what you are defending:

Simply insane. Most industrialized regions in the world that aren’t the US/Canada have reliable, frequent and/or fast rail service between nearby major cities. There’s no good argument against HSR. It’s great for the economy and environment, and creates jobs and opportunities.

During the Nuremberg trials, Nazis would say the prisoners that died from disease were only the elderly&children who always get sick anyway. And besides food is hard to get during wartime. It’s a cornerstone argument in Holocaust denial.

Disgusting framing. Canadians blame YOU for not treating our peers with dignity. Flight attendants work for free for 400+ hours a year, and your β€œagreement” is to only pay them 50% of their wage for these hours? Horrific stuff. Corporate greed has no end.

The Liberals are once again showing Canadians who they are really fighting for - big business. By crushing the strike just hours after it began, the government is clearly signalling that they don’t respect the rights of workers and labour. Strikes are meant to be disruptive.

If corporations know strikes will be immediately quashed, what incentive do they have to come to the negotiating table? Unions lose all their bargaining power. This government is setting a terrible anti-worker, anti-labour precedent.

A Canadian ICC judge is under attack from the U.S. administration & our government is silent. Carney, again, bends the knee to Trump, at Canadian’s expense. Further, the sanction’s motives are sinister - a response to scrutinizing U.S./Israeli war crimes in Afghanistan & Gaza.

Great! Then it’s not Alberta’s or Saskatchewan’s oil, natural gas, petroleum, potash, canola, or wheat, it’s all of Canada’s. And while you’re at it, stop complaining about equalization payments. Your natural resource revenue belongs to all of us. The knife cuts both ways!

Freezing property taxes will gut the city’s budget and harm services Vancouverites depend on. Meanwhile we already have the LOWEST property taxes of any major Canadian city by a large margin. Absolutely awful policy making from any conceivable perspective.

According to Jason Furman, without data centers, GDP growth was 0.1% in the first half of 2025. While we need to take opportunity cost into account (money would have been spent elsewhere if not spent on AI) this is VERY worrying. The bubble can only grow so much before it pops.
