Today in Why Am I Like This: at an Airbnb, I dropped my keys (car house bike) under the decking & spent a panicked few minutes lying on my front playing the highest-stakes grabby-claw game with some BBQ tongs. It worked! Beautiful weekend in Bath, we cycled the Two Tunnels today

At the risk of being surprised that people like us did the exact same thing as us, there were so many metalheads at Centre Parcs. We should have started a club.

My new water bottle makes an embarrassingly loud squeaky sound. When I use it in public, I've caught myself doing the most British thing imaginable - looking at it with fake surprise like I also had no idea that it would do that.

Yesterday, I was having a mug of tea in the conservatory after getting back from a run, when a chunky piece of fish fell out of the sky and landed heavily on the roof. Adding "fish falling on head because a red kite dropped their lunch" to the list of running-related hazards. πŸ‘

Ohh I was the 7th woman to finish the Henley 10km! Proud of that! The first ~2.5km was a solid uphill, it chucked it down, and I got stuck walking behind a van for a while (that's a first). But it was a fabulous route. Really enjoying the small, local 10km races this year.

How much Crunchy Nut is it normal to buy in one shopping trip? I loaded up the conveyor belt and the woman in Tesco's said "ah, you have a bunch of kids I see!" πŸ™ˆ

Playing a knock-off version of Trivial Pursuit from 20 years ago with my parents. Questions have ranged from: "how many albums has Elvis Presley got into the hit list" (97) to "which star is closest to the Earth" (the sun).

Cycling past Oxford Christmas Market. Looks like the crowds are yet to build up. A tinny rendition of Mary's Boy Child plays from the speakers. Man's voice, over a PA system: "yes, it looks like we have the production of a new waffle!!!!"
