Library Overnight - Midnight after Maleficent There is a ghost that wanders the halls and lives in the media center.

It's been a busy month of Fridays. Three teams of 5 students each participated in our first Book Wars competition on April 5.

4/12 - Celebrating Our Diversity Assembly Where else but JW could you see a traditional Indian dancer, a martial arts demonstration, an interactive salsa presentation, a STEP team, and bilingual poetry all in one program? When we sing "We are the World," we mean it!

4/26-Black-Eyed Susan Party 1/4 of the school read at least one book, 148 students read and passed quizlets on at least 3 books, 22 read all 10, 7 read all 10 plus the high school books, and 5 read all 10 all 3 years!

5/2 The JW Media Advisory Council (JW MAC) Coffee House. Admission is a poem written by the student, but they don't have to read the poem they wrote. Bongo accompaniment is optional. We always find some great new talent.

Annual Coffeehouse. An original poem is the entry fee, but students may read any poem they choose alone, with a friend, or with bongos.

Loved the original poems. There were 3 about PARCC testing.

The media center will be open this summer for book exchange from 9 to 2, 6/19-21, 6/27-29, and weekdays 8/23-9/1. Please check for updates.

Mrs. Anderson will not be in the media center June 21.
