1/3 Now online! We show that epithelia can feature multiple types of liquid crystal order that co-exist at multiple length scales: being hexatic at single-cell scale and nematic at tissue scale. Fantastic collaboration with the Giomi-team Leiden Institute of Physics (LION). nature.com/articles/s4156…

Come and visit us with your kids at the Fête de la Science, Atelier 8 for "En Quête de Bio" ( SFBD-BioDev) Oct 6, 7, 13, 14 Institut Curie there will be: 🪰🦋🐟🪱🌿 supported by LabEx.DEEP

Pros & Cons of Assembly Theory paper in nature TL;DR People are upset but not 100% justifiably IMO and some seems to stem from targeting one of the lead authors Prof. Lee Cronin while ignoring (surprise-a woman!) the other Sara Imari Walker . Paper has merits but some claims are wrong 1/19

We’re very excited to share our latest paper in Current Biology! Check out @VKchoux’s & Maria Balakireva's work investigating how cell geometry regulates the spatial distribution of apoptotic cells in developing epithelia: 🧵 illustration: lale alpar cell.com/current-biolog…

📢We are recruiting! Please RT! Daniele Fachinetti and I are looking for a #postdoc candidate to look into the mechanics of chromosomes during early mammalian development. Come join us Institut Curie in the centre of Paris !

Glad to see our recent work on the control of apoptosis by cell geometry from: @VKchoux & Balakireva M. et al. cell.com/current-biolog… Now! featured on “the cover” of Current Biology. A big thanks to Teng X. & Yusuke Toyama For their superb dispatch. cell.com/current-biolog…

Our first paper is out in Cell! Led by Rohith Rajasekaran, we present a programmable reaction-diffusion system that generates synthetic protein waves, oscillations, and patterns for spatiotemporal circuit design and FM data-encoding in human cells. authors.elsevier.com/a/1iN8ZL7PXmeeN
