Each year, the crew selects one member that has shown exceptional leadership during the previous fire season to receive the Lead by Example Award. The 2024 winner was Michael Tilton, a Task Force Coordinator out of Burkburnett. He has supported in-state responses for four years.

Working with Texas Division of Emergency Management, the Disaster Assessment and Recovery agents conducted assessments at residential and other properties along the Guadalupe River today. Efforts are ongoing, and Texans are encouraged to report damages with the iSTAT at damage.tdem.texas.gov.
