So here’s the inspiration for this poll On a flight from MSP-CYYC over the weekend, almost every first/comfort shade was open in cruise but every econ shade was closed. Not sure if there’s a lesson in there or not. Pic is from back of plane (A320) looking forward.

A seaplane pushing wave tolerance to its max. 🌊 Check out this Twin Otter in its max sea state of about 2 ft. Bouncing and bobbing over the waves until it just barely gets airborne, and that’s only because of a significant headwind. Landing in these conditions would be even

SPLASHDOWN!! On July 24th, 1969, we landed softly in the vast Pacific Ocean – and after eight humanity-changing days, our mission was complete. The great crew from the legendary U.S. Navy USS Hornet (CV-12) was there to see our prompt extraction from the deep! 56 years hence,

Two more to be an Ace! We had a T-37 at Vance that managed to strike deer thrice in separate incidents. Quite improbable, but true. Maintenance put a couple cartoonish “deer kill” stickers / markings on it, as if it were a WWII fighter. It’s a real threat at rural airfields.

When I worked line service at an FBO outside Minneapolis during college summers, I got called by the tower just after dark to tow a King Air 90 off the runway that hit two deer on landing. They also asked us to check the runway to find the deer. Wasn’t pretty.

This is from some sort of promotional PR event for the TGV, showing it could fly at least as fast as a French AF C-160 Transall. Marlène Aviation any idea of when this was taken?

I can reliably guess a person’s IQ based on if they know how to use an apostrophe, if they know how to use an Oxford comma, and if they know the difference between miles per gallon and miles per hour.

I’m not trying to imply anything but my thought: Mean US IQ is ~100 College enrollment over the time period in this chart increased a lot This could be showing a reversion to the mean kind of trend, where student body is more representative with population as a whole
