Absolutely which is why most other UN members claiming to be US allies except Israel did send people to the Korean War. The UN had 60 members in 1950. Sixteen sent combat soldiers and another five medical personnel. Another six were Soviet bloc states in Europe.

I did not. I am a structuralist political historian who recognizes Marxist class analysis as useful. My day job and politics relating to it are solidly proletarian and unionist. By all accounts I am just a left wing White guy.

This struck me as very sad. I am not one to give advice. But, I get around this by only making friends with people that never get accepted into bigger groups. There is something to be said about the solidarity of the excluded.
