Back in May, Duncan-Jordan was the organiser of a rebel letter that said the welfare reforms were "impossible to support" without a "change of direction". That letter was signed by 42 MPs - a sizable chunk of the rebel contingent prior to these concessions.

Tory shadow home secretary Chris Philp was the guest speaker at the press gallery lunch today. He said he "was considering airbrushing out the entire Liz Truss episode" from his CV before last year's election. He joked his kids "keep saying dad, you're an embarrassment".
