IFDC_REACH project supporting farmers to have access to quality seeds for vegetables and other inputs through sustainable linkages

Under IFDC_REACH project,we encourage farmers to diversify in other enterprises apart from potato and ancillary crops. One FG in Kabat parish,Tegeres sub_county in Kapchorwa District has embraced poultry as a means of strengthening Household Income and Nutrition.

Women have become the key in rural sustainability of Farmer group and many groups are now gender responsive in many aspects of group activities such as leadership, trainings and group farming. Thanks IFDC_REACH project with support from the kingdom of Netherlands

Training mothers on Nutrition component on household level through support by compassion international _Ngenge CDC,kween district.

Visited one of the youth Mr Tony cherop who has embraced passion fruit growing in his village in Kapchorwa district.He supplements his income through his profession,electrical engineer.

Men involvement in agricultural activities brings family cohesion and reduces cases of GBV in households and communities because of accountability from all household members in all financial and non financial matters. Thanks IFDC_REACH with support from the embassy of Netherlands

Received a team on a working visit in Kapchorwa from IFDC_Kenya and Uganda National Agro_inputs Dealers Association program officer in Kapchorwa were they interacted with Agro_input dealers and Farmer groups to share the local challenges on seed production and input access.

Field farmer training tomorrow 6th Dec to 8th Dec 2019 in Kapchorwa diatrict.Come learn the value chain in horticulture, animal husbandry ,matooke production vis via soil conservation measures.

Field day ended well with farmers, academicians, agro_input suppliers, policy makers,extension workers sharing a lot in horticultural practices and enhancing productivity.

We hosted the 8 European union Ambassadors in Kapenguria ,Kapchorwa district at Cherop Joel farm.It was great hosting these powerful people who influence policies and resources.
