Read this thread. Especially if you think it's hard to discern who's telling the truth here. The rule of thumb should be an automatic assumption that Russia is lying. Because that's their consistent record. They don't deserve any benefit of any doubt.

Hey Amnesty International, don’t play the “Both sides” game on #Ukraine. There is no “both sides” in murder, rape, torture. Ukraine defends her people - civilians and soldiers. #Russia’s people in Ukraine are invaders, murderers. Don’t be their amnesty! #StandWithUkraine #StopRussiaNOW

Odd how the realists are not arguing Russia has to make painful concessions for the sake of peace. Only works one way for these people. Kremlin stooges, not realists

It is hard to imagine what “transit officials” could do to destroy public transit more quickly than to install microphones all over buses and trams and trains that record what everyone says and synchronizes it with video and face recognition. wired.com/2012/12/public…

People wonder why Jews are neurotic. It’s because the chill ones didn’t make it. Every Jew you meet is the descendent of a Jew 200 years ago who was like “yo, the vibes are off. Let’s get on a boat.”

I strongly condemn & reject Russia's attempt to illegally annex occupied regions of🇺🇦 following sham votes it staged at gunpoint. Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia & Crimea are Ukraine. #Moldova's support for 🇺🇦’s sovereignty & territorial integrity remains unfaltering.

I think one struggle with social media is that we only see people when they speak…when a lot of the joy of human interaction comes from just being around each other.

You can still find transcripts of these conversations in Ibiblio archive, e.g. * USSR collapse -> ibiblio.org/pub/academic/c… * Gulf War -> ibiblio.org/pub/academic/c… * 1992 Election -> ibiblio.org/pub/academic/c… ^all must-reads for history buffs

It will be eight months of war tomorrow. Eight months of devastating news and incredible pride for our people. Of horrible destruction and unbelievable heroism. A very difficult winter is ahead. We continue to fight. We are grateful to everyone who is with us. Slava Ukraini!

After Hitler invaded the USSR, were the Soviet people wrong to fight to liberate their country? No. Should they instead have tried (& failed) to swap "land for peace"? No. So after being invaded by Russia, why are so many people coaching Ukrainians to give "land for peace" today?
