@BBCInTune Soraya Mafi I remember first hearing Soraya as a young artist at the Ludlow English Song Weekend festival a few years ago - it’s so lovely when musicians whose talent is spotted early on turn out to be every bit as accomplished as people predicted.

Without Glyndebourne tour and English National Opera, where in the hell are young British opera singers going to go to cut their teeth and be heard by International companies?! Arts Council England - what is the future for British conservatories when there’s going to be NO JOBS?! Utterly shameful.

@glassyben Arts Council England Glyndebourne Brilliant. I read the Glyndebourne annual accounts this morning and a key stat to use is that for every £1 of Arts Council funding Glyndebourne add £2.33 for the Tour and the Engagement programme. There’s a great graphic on impact too in their 2021 annual report. Happy ranting!
