100 years ago, at around this time (3:45), on 29 August 1925 at Griffin Park, in a Football League Division 3 (South) game, centre forward Jack Allen became the first Brentford player to score a goal wearing a red & white striped shirt.

When Brentford signed Jimmy Gabriel in March 1974, it was first transfer to use the league’s new facsimile machine to complete it. Ann Lamb had the distinction of loading the documents into the new apparatus, which were sent to the League’s HQ in Lytham St Annes in Lancashire.
