Wonderful celebrating Jonathan Bailey 70th birthday 🥳 this afternoon at (fittingly) the Hersham Youth Centre to which he is devoted. Jon gets a 😘 from Margaret H, also a dedicated volunteer & my distinguished predecessor as Hersham’s SCC Cllr. Great time.

Interesting morning down in Crawley at the Parliamentary Boundary Commission Hearing, urging them to keep Hersham ‘united’ in a single constituency. Their current proposal would divide us into 2 seats. Hopeful they will amend at the next stage ⁦Hersham Residents⁩

Delighted to be present at the packed retirement lunch for Rob Moran, who has served 14 distinguished years as EBC’s Chief Exec. Worked closely with Rob for six years when Council Leader and he is an inspirational & dedicated public servant and a fine, fine man.

Why I love Hersham Library, Part 597. Ordered one book by Charlotte Philby (yes, granddaughter of Kim) and went to collect it….then on the way out, suddenly saw another by her on the rack in the lobby, so went back in to get that too. Our Library never lets you down!

Good news for residents of THISTLECROFT ROAD, which is in dire condition - it’s going to be resurfaced in a couple of weeks. Many more improvements in Hersham’s roads and pavements planned this year….👍 Watch this space!

Think I’m the only candidate living in Hersham. Likely to be fairly occupied for the next month, pounding the streets and getting feedback. Local democracy should be treasured and I’m sure it will be a good, positive and clean contest.👍

The promised £1.5m this year for Hersham resurfacing is being delivered👍. Molesey and Profumo Rds, plus the Westcar Lane Rdbt, all restored to new. And next week it’s Esher Road & more in the pipeline. Surrey Highways Cllr Matt Furniss
