January 22, 1969, a day that will live in infamy. Astros trade Rusty Staub to Montreal Expos for Jesus Alou and Donn Clendenon. Clendenon refused to go to Houston and play for Harry Walker. Expos sent Billingham and Guinn. Staub would go on to become Canada's hottest male model.

On this day in 1966 I hit two home runs against Dick Ellsworth as we beat the Cubs 8-5 at Wrigley Field. We scored 5 runs in the top of the ninth to win 8-5. Carroll Sembera got his first MLB Win. baseball-reference.com/boxes/CHN/CHN1…

This will be the 48th World Series since the Mariners began play in 1977. They haven't played in any of them. No other MLB/NBA/NFL/NHL franchise all-time has gone that long to begin the franchise's history without reaching the championship round while remaining in the same city.
