District 19 Alder Campaign starts in earnest today. The door cards have arrived and I'm heading for the Crestwood Neighborhood.

Thank you to the hundreds who have opened their doors to accept my Madison District 19 Alder campaign card. I have learned a lot about your view of top city issues.

There are many more people in Madison District 19 to whom I want to introduce my campaign, so a little Wisconsin snow won't keep me home.

Your money can make a big difference in City of Madison Common Council elections even outside of your district. Candidates for less aggressive housing development could make big gains on the council. Here are elections I think are competitive and will make a big difference (in rough order):

On a PAC spending in alder races: Development must be driven by Madison’s council and city staff in an open public process with neighborhood input, not by developers. Still, Madison needs to vigorously increase its stock of affordable housing.
