Grateful to McKnight Foundation @PewTrusts and the supportive, stimulating environment at Scripps Research. Huge thanks to my wonderful and endlessly creative lab members — you make coming to work a daily joy and privilege. Did I say this enough:🌟 We’re actively hiring! 🌟

I'm excited to announce that starting October 2024, I'll be opening a lab at the Technion Faculty of Biology! Biology Technion We will study the role of unique cell types in visual behaviors in zebrafish, using genetic tools, imaging, and behavioral approaches.

I am so excited to making progress in understanding Down syndrome using zebrafish. We are also incredibly grateful to NICHD News and the INCLUDE project for the support.

Our paper on the neurodevelopment of collective behavior in schooling Danionella is now published in Current Biology doi.org/10.1016/j.cub.…

The vastenhouwlab.org Université de Lausanne is hiring two PhD students! If you are interested in transcription regulation, nuclear organization, and quantitative bio, go and check out the official advertisements here rb.gy/rwcz3e and rb.gy/rwcz3e and get in touch.

Looking forward to this exciting conference! Join us and come to our symposium co-organized with @InesMARibeiro Johannes Larsch on visual processing in social behaviours across species.

Apply for a quantitative-leaning PhD in neuroscience about social circuits in zebrafish or check out the other wonderful participating labs! Life is short, spend it in an inspiring and friendly place @cig_unil UNIL Quantitative Biology PhD program 🇨🇭🔬🐠🏔🍫🎓. Msg me for infos

I am very much looking forward to our satellite workshop at this year's Bernstein conference Bernstein Network Computational Neuroscience which focuses on collective behavior Centre for the Adv Study of Collective Behaviour Universität Konstanz and is co-organized by Armin Bahl Armin Bahl. Come and join us next Sunday in Frankfurt! Goethe-Universität

Interested in quantitative biology? Apply to the qBio PhD program Université de Lausanne. My lab (vastenhouwlab.org) is among the ones offering positions through this program. Email me for more info and hope to see you in December. @cig_unil UNIL Quantitative Biology PhD program.

Excited to share a new preprint form the lab: biorxiv.org/content/10.110… yoav rubinstein #Neuroscience #zebrafish

Just out! biorxiv.org/content/10.110…. Shivali Dongre used quantitative imaging to study how gene-specific TFs cluster in the nucleus. In line with existing models, she found that both the DNA-binding domain and an intrinsically disordered region are required for clusters to form.

🎉Congrats to Baier Lab MPI for Biological Intelligence 🇮🇱 and collaborators on securing a €10M ERC Synergy Grant! Together, they will explore how zebrafish internally represent their environment, potentially reshaping our understanding of intelligence. Find out more: bi.mpg.de/news/2024-11-b… FMI science
