Personal view: I’m one of the lucky ones - I have a kid - not too young but not in a critical gcse/a level year , my and husband’s work can be largely done from a laptop at home. We can afford supplies. We have lots of good friends and neighbours. We have a house and a car.

Me, all day: "Oh, gosh, I really need to work on X. Ugh, and Y really needs to get done this week. Oh, no, I forgot I have to do Z!!" Me, finally finding time to sit at my computer: *stares blankly in complete overwhelm until I get interrupted*

Man this is all getting a bit much. Parenting a 2yo and 5yo while both of us try to work full time is taking its toll. Everyday is a battle with the kids and it’s exhausting.

The Imperial College epidemic simulation code that I helped a little on is now public: github.com/mrc-ide/covid-… I am a strong proponent of public code for models that may influence policy, and while this is a "release" rather than a "live" depot, it is a Good Thing.
