I use Bitcoin as an example here, but in reality, almost every major crypto is facing the same crisis! Very few at all have the fee revenue growth necessary to keep the network from falling apart (except Nano which doesn't need it).

In the past, we had to wait 4-8 years (or more) for people to become disillusioned with the government and try to enact change. Thanks to the information age, we've speedrun that in 6 short months. Next step: seeking nonpolitical solutions to our problems.

I personally could take either: FCMP advanced view keys, or transparent addresses (even though I favor the latter). But stop letting people rage and call you a fed, shitcoiner, etc. etc. for a minor disagreement on technical approaches.

This whole discussion is the crux of the animosity between Monero and Zcash. Funny enough, both agree fundamentally on default privacy, optional transparency. But each side has a disagreement over the technical implementation.

Before I got into crypto, I wanted to be a customer of Peter's bank, because he had a gold-backed debit card that would let me live exclusively on sound money. I would have been completely screwed had I done that!

Finally got through this pretty monster podcast. Great stuff. One of the better, more accurate, and more nuanced privacy discussions in a space of hyperbole and tribalism.

Had the amazing pleasure of sitting down with Ross Ulbricht's mother Lyn Ulbricht at Porcfest to have her tell her incredible story of the decade-plus fight to free her son. I've known Lyn for many years, almost as long as I've been in crypto, and I've seen how hard she fought,

Who wants to join this space in a couple of hours? I'm interested in particular in people who don't think a crypto protocol should be marketed directly.

Ross was never a criminal. Crypto was never criminal. Freedom is never criminal. Yet they treat it as if it is, because it's dangerous to them.

Unending pessimism is either a coping mechanism for feeling powerless in this world, or a way to fearmonger so you can grift off of poor unsuspecting people. You pick which one.

I can't stand perma-blackpilled people. Sure, the world is messed up, but we have lots of awesome things going on to push back against that. Tons of hope. I've never had more.

Three big trends I see in the crypto payments space: 1⃣ Everyone's getting a stablecoin 2⃣ Everyone's getting smart contracts 3⃣ Few are overhauling their privacy 1 is trendy, but won't last. 2 is necessary. 3 is insanely slept on, and will pay dividends.

This is what I love about entrepreneurs: they see a need (seamless cross-chain DEX swaps), see a problem that can't be overcome (need to connect a wallet), and figure it out anyway. Great work Khal!
