As the new Education Minister, Jill Dunlop has an opportunity to do what her predecessor Stephen Lecce never did & call for an inquiry into conditions at Ontario's provincial schools. I hope this means she will actually get to the bottom of this. #onted thepointer.com/article/2024-1…

NEW: Striking Ontario engineers are escalating their work-to-rule action after an unsuccessful negotiation with the government. Next, the union is going to start removing members from Highway 413 and Bradford Bypass to slow the projects down. #onpoli globalnews.ca/news/10824400/…

Huge new story about the three year efforts to stopthebradfordbypass. This is an amazing summary of the sloppy, secretive, dangerous ways #onpoli is "getting it done". Beautiful photography! thepointer.com/article/2024-1… #handsoffthegreenbelt #stopthe413 #

The Bradford Bypass will devastate the Holland Marsh and do nothing to fix congestion, but the PCs don’t want you to know that | The Pointer thepointer.com/article/2024-1…

#onpoli Ford's other misguided highway project: The Bradford Bypass will devastate the Holland Marsh and do nothing to fix congestion, but the PCs don’t want you to know that | The Pointer thepointer.com/article/2024-1…

When all the facts point to desperately needed investments in alternative modes of transportation, the PCs are doubling down on dangerous highways, misleading the public about the benefits and ignoring the disastrous environmental consequences. thepointer.com/article/2024-1…

Joel Wittnebel (@joeljwittnebel) 's Twitter Profile Photo

The misleading rhetoric continues. The PC government's own studies show the Bradford Bypass will NOT reduce gridlock and congestion will only get worse in the area in the years ahead without alternative solutions. thepointer.com/article/2024-1…

🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ As per the MTO's own studies 👇 The bypass itself expected to see similar congestion levels to Highway 400 and 404 by 2041, and it will not solve congestion on either of these highways it connects. Congestion will actually get worse by 2041, even with the bypass

Wilderness Committee Ontario Office (@wildernewson) 's Twitter Profile Photo

This photo of destruction is the Ford governments idea of a good news story. The Bradford Bypass does not even have all of its permits or route determined. It's unnecessary and expensive and will do severe damage to the Holland River and Lake Simcoe. #ONpoli

Joel Wittnebel (@joeljwittnebel) 's Twitter Profile Photo

The PCs are okay with clearing trees, destroying habitat, including for Species at Risk, without considering the potential damage to Lake Simcoe, all while misleading the public. The MTO's studies show the Bypass will not reduce gridlock, and it will be congested by 2041.

Joel Wittnebel (@joeljwittnebel) 's Twitter Profile Photo

For clarity, the government’s own studies show this highway will do NOTHING to solve congestion over the long-term. Local benefits are minuscule compared to the cost (1/4B per KM) and environmental damage. Yet the PCs continue to lie the public.

Joel Wittnebel (@joeljwittnebel) 's Twitter Profile Photo

The PCs own studies show this highway and #Highway413 will action create MORE gridlock. This is not an opinion, the facts are clear. MTO knows the Bypass and 413 will be congested in short order. Also, the final impact assessment makes no mention of 35 minute time saving.

Joel Wittnebel (@joeljwittnebel) 's Twitter Profile Photo

The Bypass will not "get people out of gridlock". The MTOs own studies show this highway and the 413 will both be congested in a short number of years. It will cause irreversible damage to Lake Simcoe, and harm natural services that save taxpayers nearly $1B annually.

If you live in the Golden Horseshoe, give The Pointer a look. They're doing vital local journalism. The Bradford Bypass will devastate the Holland Marsh and do nothing to fix congestion, but the PCs don’t want you to know that | The Pointer thepointer.com/article/2024-1…

Excellent reporting here from Anushka. The PC government absolutely shredding the Environmental Bill of Rights to stumble blindly forward with its development-at-any-cost agenda. thepointer.com/article/2024-1…
