1990: zero states with obesity rates above 20% 2018: zero states with obesity rates below 20% Not to mention an explosion in chronic disease, cancer, ADHD, inflammation... Something has to change. And that something is our broken food system.

San Francisco is experiencing a drug overdose crisis. The fentanyl crisis is caused by a city that does very little to stem the open air drug markets that proliferate in TL, SOMA and downtown. The city must make a change, but SF hard left political machine fights for status quo

I am not convinced the “war time ceo” vs. “peacetime ceo” distinction is meaningful. Good CEOs are paranoid, period. To quote Andy Grove: “only the paranoid survive.”

Frustrating to read an investor update & have no idea how the company is actually doing. I want to see: 1) revenue, burn, cash on hand 2) other KPI's / priorities (margin/cac etc) relative to previous periods & a score 3) successes (new logos)/failures (churn) 4) how we can help

NYC reinvented lower Manhattan with $20B in public/private investments to build parks, transit, and tax breaks to convert commercial space to residential. SF Chronicle Editorial board is right— it's time to take decisive action to fix SF. Close the drug markets. (Vote out

In 2021 the city spent $1.1B on homelessness, up 500% since 2016. The result? Homelessness increased 64% Where does all this money go? Much of it is permanent housing, where people are paid to do drugs until they die (no or minimal detox and treatment offered or required)

Spot on analysis - significant economic opportunity and social mobility can't come from our nation's top 20 private colleges (including the Ivies), where <1% of our nation's students attend college. Societal impact can be driven by the large public school systems, though.
