Whittingham: UCLA's program is familiar to us, but 90% of the players are different from last time.

Whittingham: Like any opener, there's a lot of unknowns.

Whittingham: A lot of new faces, 50% of the guys are new. We're excited about what we're doing on offense ... Defense has been very solid all through fall camp.

Tobias Merriweather has a "real knack" for playing contested balls, Whittingham said.

Whittingham: On paper, this is the best offensive line we've had.

Whittingham: Nico is a playmaker, true dual-threat guy. A lot like our guy, Devon.

Whittingham: Somehow, we got to get to the point of a (similar structure to the NFL). Same type of setuyp, salary cap, that type of thing. With it will probbaly come a players union, all that.
