If I had one clear recommendation on this it's to get a spreadsheet and plot out every single opportunity you have for cultural messaging and plan what will be said, when. Without cultural messaging all policies will drift and ultimately the culture will mutate.

Learning is hard, it requires lots of thinking, repetition and resilience but the rewards are huge - increased confidence, motivation, self esteem and a change in long term memory. Doing fun activities rarely result in learning!!!!

Family dining at Maltby Academy 🍽 The whole dining room is filled with a sense of belonging, togetherness & community during our Y7 family dining. All students & staff enjoying each other’s company, engaging in genuine & meaningful conversations & eating a warm lunch together.

Really interesting visit to Astrea Academy Woodfields this week. Amazing transformation in such a short time. Superb participation in lessons and students were polite and welcoming - thank you David Scales for your hospitality and honesty.

Great read and we have done just this over this week. Full session for all students on participation and why thinking hard helps them to learn and what we are doing in lessons to make the think.
