12/12/40 THURS: Our forces in Egypt have had a great victory. They've captured Sidi Barani and 1000s of troops. Mummy had a big row all the evening. #SheilasDiary #LDNDiary1940 This was the 1st big victory in the Western Desert campaign. 1000s of Italian prisoners were captured.
