Excited to be at the World Knowledge Forum in Seoul this week representing #ibmquantum as part of a number of panel discussions on Quantum Computing within the theme of “Techno Big Bang: Humanity on the Shoulders of Giants.” The one and only Steve Wozniak kicking the event off!

Now that we’ve entered the era of utility, we need to run utility-scale experiments to accelerate science with quantum computers. In order for quantum computers to explore domains beyond the reach of classical simulation, we must run large quantum circuits: 3K gates, 100 qubits

Today we put a new paper on the arXiv (arxiv.org/abs/2311.05933) “Benchmarking Quantum Processor Performance at Scale” which introduces a new tool for benchmarking quantum processors, “the layer fidelity” that enables us to track continual improvements at 100+ qubits. 1/n

IonQ It's disingenuous to imply that one could successfully execute a monte carlo circuit with 35 qubits and 1000 gates when in reality the circuit that was used in the protocol was 7 qubits and 26 gates. It's very misleading to report gate count BEFORE heavy compiler optimization.

Fantastic talk on Rydberg atom QC by Mark Saffman closing the QC platforms tutorial! Thanks to Ed Barnes for organizing and to all speakers for the great talks. What an awesome start to DQI sessions in this March meeting!

Thanks to Jay Gambetta Jerry Chow blake_johnson IBM for support in validating how software can augment hardware, and for creating a very nice platform for Q-CTRL to build upon. These are exciting results and we look forward to achieving more on future generation systems!

To achieve a quantum industry we must collaborate with partners to continue growing the quantum ecosystem and supply chain. Many talk about creating a quantum supply chain - we are actually partnering to do it. ibm.com/quantum/blog/j…
