Our perspective on endoplasmic reticulum structure has now been published! In this review, we (Christopher Obara Lippincott-Schwartz Lab) examine the diverse nanoscale ER structures that have been described by light (see below) and electron microscopy. cshperspectives.cshlp.org/content/early/…

Registration is now open for our 2023 Journal Meeting 'Imaging Cell Dynamics', organised by Erika Holzbaur Erika Holzbaur-Howland, Jennifer Lippincott-Schwartz Lippincott-Schwartz Lab, Rob Parton @LabParton and Michael Way @DrMichaelWay Find out more and apply to attend at biologists.com/meetings/celld…

In our new preprint, we reported that endogenous YAP condensates are sensitive to Hippo pathway and cytoskeleton regulations. We also used single molecule tracking to find out that YAP condensates are viscous hubs that can slow down YAP diffusion. Congrats Siyuan Hao et al

Watching one of my favorite people and scientists Christopher Obara from Lippincott-Schwartz Lab knock it out of the park with his beautiful work on ER-mito contact dynamics #CellBio2022

Check out this fascinating preprint about cilia in neurons, astrocytes, and oligodendrocyte precursor cells by our researchers (incl. Forrest Collman, JoAnn Buchanan, @AgnesLBodor), Lippincott-Schwartz Lab, and collaborators! 🔗 biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

🍻🍻🍻Well folks…some great news to share. Incredibly happy to announce that I’ll be starting my group The CIMR in Feb2024 with funding from a Wellcome CDA. A massive thanks to CIMR and my various mentors Kirsten Harvey, Lippincott-Schwartz Lab, Craig Blackstone and Peter St George Hyslop!

Two new papers show how and why neurons in the cerebellum disassemble #cilia as they mature. With Saikat Mukhopadhyay and Wei-Chung Allen Lee @darbly.bsky.social. biorxiv.org/content/10.110… biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Congrats to Christopher Obara and Lippincott-Schwartz Lab for this very interesting study that uses single molecule tracking of VAPB to examine ER-mitochondrial contacts and protein mobility through the ER network. nature.com/articles/s4158…

🥼 Carolyn Ott, a senior scientist in the Lippincott-Schwartz Lab, is featured in The Scientist, discussing new research she co-authored that used volume electron microscopy to examine how primary cilia on developing neurons change during differentiation. ⬇️ the-scientist.com/new-cilia-disa…

#CellSpeak has begun! From October 20-26, share your science and engage with the public. Use #CellSpeak and tag American Society for Cell Biology to showcase your work.
