I may or may not have assembled an army of frog-loving children at yesterday's talk at the #FestivalofBiodiversity. Aside from the slight disappointment at not having live #frogs at the talk, I think the kids loved it. And I also learnt that poisonous frogs are a popular topic.

𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐘 𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐋𝐃 𝐋𝐈𝐙𝐀𝐑𝐃 𝐃𝐀𝐘 From tiny geckos on our walls to majestic monitor lizards cruising through our waterways, #lizards are a vital part of our #ecosystems. They help control pest populations, are prey for other #wildlife, and some even do nutrient cycling.

Many have tried, all have failed… do not mess with Spicomellus :B Just had to doodle it!

🎃 𝐒𝐎𝐌𝐄𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐂𝐔𝐓𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐒 𝐖𝐀𝐘 𝐇𝐎𝐏𝐒! 🎃 With its bright orange skin & eerie glandular swellings, the Resplendent Bush Frog (𝘙𝘢𝘰𝘳𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘴 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘴) from the misty grasslands of the #WesternGhats looks straight out of a #Halloween horror.

A reminder that by the Middle Ages of our time, there were still giant fossa that ate lemurs the size of men; “Mermaids” the size of whales; and lost worlds that were home to the largest dinosaurs in the age of mammals. All of this only 20-30 generations ago…
