This adult Caspian Gull was as the roost at Little Marlow GP yesterday evening. The more regular Polish ringed bird was not seen. Plenty of other Gulls to scan through!!

This Iceland Gull dropped into Little Marlow GP just before dusk to roost. It is the same bird that had been seen there in 10th March. A Med Gull was also seen in the large group of Common Gulls. bucks bird club Bucks Bird Alert

This Blue-winged Teal was found by David J Bevan at Marlow Low Grounds. He is having a good few months after finding the Two-barred Warbler at Spurn in October. If accepted the BW Teal will be first for Bucks.🍾 youtu.be/ULF2yi0TmNc

I was out early greatest morning trying to find Grey Partridge for the Bucks Bird race team. I found a pair but they disappeared before the team arrived 🙄 However I was pleased to get nice views of this Hare. Near Little Marlow.

This Hobby was hawking low over Marlow flood relief scheme yesterday afternoon. It was nice to see it return a couple of times as the usual sightings are rather more brief. Bucks Bird Alert bucks bird club

A lovely albeit distant sight of a pair of Common Cranes at Otmoor RSPB yesterday. A fantastic reserve. We also saw Bittern, Cuckoo, Hobby, Marsh Harrier, Garganey, Snipe, Redshank, Curlew and saw/heard 10 Warbler species. youtu.be/IGP2egInwgo

The Marlow Film Studio planning application has appeared on Bucks planning portal with reference number 22/06443/FULEA. Volunteers & hired experts are scanning through the 401(!) docs. We are also aware that there is an admin error so we are awaiting BC’s response.

I witnessed a real tussle between this Cormorant and a large Eel yesterday on the Thames at Little Marlow. They spent most of the time struggling under water and occasionally surfaced for a second or two. I don't know how it ended but I guess it went on for some time!

A polite reminder: birds are at their limits in the breeding season: building nests, defending territories, feeding young and also surviving. I’m aware of people putting additional strain on some of our heathland birds and owls just for *that* special photo. PLEASE DON’T!!
