It shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone that Tadhg Beirne is also a world class finisher. Took three men on in a phonebox there and still dotted down.

A 2/10 Ref performance gave more jeopardy to the Lions tour than Australian Rugby could & im surprised he didn’t give the penalty Beirne being tackled off the ball on the line, Freeman catching a yellow without it ever actually being penalised etc etc

It’s got to be Tom Curry or Tadhg Beirne for player of the tour doesn’t it? Both coming up with big moments and both putting in giant performances when needed in an utterly dominant backrow. My vote would be Beirne but it’d be close

Not sure what sanctions the citing commissioner can put on Tizzano for simulation/diving but it’s covered under law 9.7/9.27 and most definitely shows a lack of integrity. A few weeks ban from world rugby would stamp it out

The highlight of the Lions tour had to have been Ronan o Gara on commentary right? Shouldn’t be a surprise that he’s added top class commentator to his top class player and coach repertoire Here he is calling the Aussie try from 60 metres out with Aki out of position Sound on

Big win today for the Wallabies but a massive big Loser tag self earned for Nic White starting a fight over a player knocked out on the ground with medics trying to get in. Absolute grub. Will Skelton in fairness tried to protect James Ryan.

Good to see James Ryan up and about at the end of the game. Never nice seeing a player knocked out like that. He was lucky in the first half though that his stamp wasn’t caught by the TMO during the schmozzle or he’d have been off earlier.

It ended up not being a closely run race at all. Tadhg Beirne was exceptional again yesterday. Well earned player of the series. Over the three full tests he made 50 tackles 4 turnovers 22 carries scored a try and had a motm award.

Winner winner chicken dinner. Adidas knocking the new jersey design out of the park. Good throwback to the 2007 Canterbury shirt. Nicest Adidas rugby kit out there? I reckon so.

The Boks defence was as soft as I’ve ever seen it. They missed 26 tackles for 75% tackle success. It was almost like they thought they were home and hosed after 20 mins.

Good indication of the mindset of the Boks here. 11 points down, 72 minutes gone and they’re doing dummy lineout/maul trick plays in midfield. Not sure if it’s arrogance or stupidity, bit of both maybe? Up their own holes as they’d say out west.

Probably worth a re-visit to this tweet 2+ years on with Munster setting records with their new match shirt sale. Adidas have been knocking it out of the park while Castore can’t seem to shake the quality issues I think.

With Munsters preseason game v Biarritz being called off this Friday I thought I’d ask a question anyway. Can you name 6 players who have played senior games for both Biarritz and Munster? I’ll start you off with one. Have a cut off it before googling

30 seconds with AI and I did a better job. It could generate extra fan engagement as well by collecting cereal packets etc.

Not sure when exactly the Boks swapped their tough moniker for a show pony one but it seems fairly complete now. Midfield lineout mauls are fancy when you’re winning. South Africa’s tackle success has only gotten above 80% in one game this calendar year.

Munster will be dangerous out wide this year. Don’t think there’s a team in the URC that has the pace munster has on the wings - Nash, Smith, Daly, Abrahams, Kilgallen, McCarthy. There’ll be plenty more lovely scores like this one from Smith
