I enjoyed Barack Obama last night and Bill Clinton tonight. As I watched, I thought of their impressive Republican opponents, whom I supported—the late George H.W. Bush, Bob Dole, and John McCain, and Mitt Romney. We once had serious and decent leaders in both parties. Not now.

I buy milk, bacon, cereal, eggs and bread, etc. where the price is competitive. If I pick them up wherever I see them, I can pay a 50% premium or more, but I don't. That's always been my approach, before, and after, inflation. With so many options, it's often easy.

When I eat all my (single) meals at home, I often spend about between $6 and $10 a day. I may spend a couple of extra dollars on snacks. Food and most other prices haven't bothered me recently. Housing is another matter. I'd Love to see housing level off.

I don't need to see Trump in a debate again. I've known what he is for almost a decade. I'd like to see more of Kamala in other forums.

Budget 101. Any government, including the federal government, needs revenues (such as taxes), to be able to provide services. If you're giving a tax break, make sure it's going where it should, as you're reducing revenues. It may affect your ability to provide services.

The Fed, an independent agency, helped survive the the pandemic, loosening monetary policy. This contributed to, but was not the only cause of inflation. It's amazing we stayed out of recession. That was a trade-off. It may have helped me.

I'd give a random voter each day one dollar if they'd agree to sign a petition saying that Trump is a liar. But I can't. It would break me. On second thought, it's wrong to do that. It took only a few seconds for me to figure that out.
