Thank you San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria Councilmember Jennifer Campbell and the SD City Council for approving a fourth JFS Safe Parking Program site in the City of San Diego, and our fifth in the County.

JFS welcomed former Stockton Mayor Michael Tubbs and End Poverty in California (EPIC) for a convening on ending poverty with leaders in govt and philanthropy. Together, we discussed developing public-private partnerships for economic security, with a focus on housing, healthcare, and direct cash.

Today, we and our partners sent a letter demanding that Customs and Border Protection finally take action to uphold the reproductive rights and health of migrants. We’ve been sounding the alarm for years — yet CBP keeps looking the other way.

People in CBP custody have been denied medical care, and kept in freezing and degrading conditions. These facilities aren’t safe. Time and time again, Customs and Border Protection has put countless pregnant, postpartum, and nursing people’s health in danger.

The only way to ensure migrants receive adequate reproductive care is to release them.
