Changes are emerging across the climate system. Everywhere we look, the climate is changing rapidly. Rate of recent changes is unprecedented in at least 2000 years for many climate metrics. These changes are not natural; they are primarily caused by the burning of fossil fuels.

Good thread, with DaveFrame explaining why focussing on short term impacts of methane emissions is a problem. Unfortunately the trade off between CH4 and CO2 highlighted by Dan Miller is exactly what happens in carbon trading and national accounts denominated in CO2e

It was a large release of methane, which is never welcome. But keep it in perspective. UN Environment Programme estimated that 75,000-230,000 tons escaped. The energy industry worldwide released ~135 million tons of methane in 2022. So the Nord Stream blast accounted for 0.06%-0.17% of the total

Hi Northern Powergrid I’ve got a UPS and it’s triggered for over voltage on our network last week and again today (threshold 256 V which is beyond 230+10%). We had this problem in 2018. Can you DM me for follow up please, thanks.
