Laurence Msall was a mentor, advisor, intellectual, advocate, civic leader and most of all a good friend and human being. His voice and constant advocacy for good financial policy helped guide Chicago in our pathway to financial turnaround. You will be missed Laurence.

Laurence took all too task, including himself and me...at one event years ago I was being my snarky self about who was to blame for digging city into fiscal hole...he said: "yvette, we all share in the blame." And he was right. bondbuyer.com/news/chicago-c…

Despite the pandemic, we achieved the lowest sustained projected budget gaps in the City’s history, 13 rating upgrades and 3 positive outlooks, the first upgrades in as much as 25 years. It’s been an honor and privilege to serve the City with Mayor Lightfoot.

⁦@chicagosmayor⁩ has achieved financial stability during her term which pays for City investments. We have made $8B in city investments over 3 investment programs, each the largest in the City’s history. It’s been an honor and privilege serving Mayor Lightfoot and Chicago.

Yvette Shields was a smart, hard-working, financially savvy, fair, and well-connected reporter. Above all, she was a good person and passionate about municipal finance. Her passing is an enormous loss to financial transparency and accountability. bondbuyer.com/news/longtime-…

10 years ago, I married the love of my life at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum. We fell in love over a campfire and we now take our kids camping. That’s why I’m excited to join the board of the Museum and to support its mission to create a positive relationship between people and nature.

Rose was a devoted public servant in an often thankless job which she carried out with nothing but kindness and grace. She was such an important part of #TeamComms and Chicago City Budget. What a loss, not just for those of us who knew and loved her, but for the entire city. 🤍
