Child poverty costs… it is NOT just about money. These are our children, this is their life. They need their childhood, deserve happiness and want to play. Its time to focus on children ⁦@wkrussell⁩ ⁦⁦⁦Rishi Sunak⁩ ⁦Nadhim Zahawi⁩ theguardian.com/society/2021/s…

My thoughts? It’s too big. It is too carbon-y. It is too dangerous for pedestrians. It is antisocial. It has no place in a low carbon economy.

So you can have a home – but only for two years. And it's not a house, or a flat – it's a 'pod' under a bridge. And if you've used drugs, or you drink? Nope, not for you. Nice CGI though, lovely stuff. theguardian.com/society/2021/n…

Our Jenny Wood had a brilliant day today working with QUB Planning School students. They explored the extent to which the neighbourhoods of South West Edinburgh are child-friendly. Lots of fun and fruitful discussion exploring affordances and finding inner children!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time running this pilot. The children blew us away with their enthusiasm and talent. Minecraft really helps bring children’s imagination to light, and mixing it with real, on-the-ground visits helped immensely. Read the below blog to find out more!

The team behind this work are the best in the business, and there are very few examples of social research having such an impact on public and political debate.

I’m so grateful to the young people at Long Covid Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 for taking the time (and energy!) to tell us what it’s like to live with Long Covid. Public awareness is poor, and it’s vital we consider the children and young people for whom Covid-19 has not been a mild illness!
